A 501(c) (3) (in process) to Reduce and Prevent Childhood Obesity through
Creative Peer to Peer Projects

Vision:
Go Healthy Pals! is a non-profit organization that offers micro- grants to children, ages 9-14, to develop leadership skills by financially supporting their efforts in promoting health and wellness projects and activities amongst their peers. Hoping that their efforts reduce and prevent childhood obesity and encourage the message that being healthy is “always in.”

Examples of peer to peer projects could include:
  1. Distributing 20 cases of oranges to your classmates with stickers that say "Orange you glad you had a piece of fruit?" A flyer could be created that gives fast facts about the importance of eating fruit and vegetables everyday. A quiz could be developed that scores kids on their nutrition.
  2. A short video could be developed that provides information on exercise, nutrition and the problems associated with childhood obesity, including interviews from experts and kids.
  3. A fun run could be organized that gets families participating together
  4. A children's book could be developed with illustrations that talks about the importance of health and wellness for kids physically, mentally and emotionally.

Mission:
To encourage leaders, adults and children to take an active role and make small changes to improve their health and therefore their achievements.
